| Swedish CO2 sensors for Shanghai's new airport | | SenseAir AB has supplied sensors for another big airport, newly-built Hongqiao airport in Shanghai. | So far more than 400 carbon dioxide sensors have been installed in HVAC-systems on the site. The order is a prestigious one and may be extended further.
Hongqiao airport, which came into use recently, was planned to be ready for Shanghai World Expo, the world trade fair which runs from 1 May to 31 October 2010. Included in the HVAC (Heating, ventilation, air-conditioning) systems are carbon dioxide sensors for ventilation control, from Swedish SenseAir. The order is a prestigious one not least because Shanghai, it is predicted, will soon become the financial centre of the world.
Hongqiao airport will serve as a template for about 100 airports which are being planned for construction in the near future in China. SenseAir's chances of being involved in these projects have increased dramatically thanks to the Shanghai order.
Hongqiao airport will be able to handle at least 30 million passengers per year. SenseAir CO2 sensors are also installed in many other international airports, for example in Hongkong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Munchen.
